The natural healing force within all of us
is the greatest force in getting well.
The word “Nahmi” is inspired by the Japanese word “nami” which means wave. It evokes the beauty, grace, and strength embodied in nature by the ocean wave. The word also reflects the fluidity with which the motion of waves are known.
Likewise, the human body exhibits a similar beauty, grace, and strength in its ability to heal. Also similarly, the healing process is often not a straightforward one. It is often a process of ebb and flow, where encouraging gains can be followed by seemingly discouraging setbacks. For this reason, the word “nahmi” perfectly reflects the natural ebb and flow of the healing process.
Be gentle with yourself. Healing isn't a perfect process.
The name Nahmi Health also receives inspiration from Rumi’s famous quote because of one of our core values is interconnectedness:
“You are not a drop in the Ocean;
you are the entire ocean in a drop.”
It is a gentle reminder of the interconnectedness of all things—how each of us as a consciousness is a small yet integral part of the fabric of human consciousness. It also helps us remember with awe and wonder the infinite potential that lie within each of us.
